About Me
Kayleigh De Sousa is a London based Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Creative Producer.
In 2019 she completed her academic studies, graduating in BA Illustration and Graphic Design, with an additional year abroad in Cyprus, under the Erasmus programme.
Initially, Kayleigh’s practice revolved predominantly around illustration, using it as a tool to express the complexities of personal mental health and the everyday struggles faced, especially as a black woman in the inner city. Reoccuring themes include utilising real life texts and personal pictures, representing how technology and our emotions are intricately interlinked allowing for an extension of ourselves to be immortalised digitally.
As of now, her practice has evolved and illustration has now become a skill Kayleigh uses to explore the intersections of visual art and community. She is highly interested in youth engagement, producing enriching workshops for young people, in order to inspire the next generation of creatives to become the best versions of themselves.
