Re:Source!
Celebrating the culmination of our time as Future Producers at Somerset House the four remaining members of the programme, Rhyan Jordan Holder, Cherece Lucina John, Valeria Salinas Toro and myself are going forward as a collective named Re:Source!
Re:Source refers to the ways in which we were able to utilise not only physical arts spaces such as Somerset House, but also our own internal networks, creative skills and passion to produce events that seek to champion emerging creatives.
The event was directly planned and produced by us, liaising with the Somerset House team in order to transform the River Rooms into a microcosm of our individual creative worlds, with references to the Somerset House projects we have collaborated on over the last two years.
Each of us have extensive experience in curating events based off of our own individual skills - this includes creative coding, DJ’ing, live music gigs and workshop facilitation. This was also reflected during the night where we had:
Live music performance and artworks exhibited by Rhyan
A curated DJ set by Cherece
An immersive visual installation by Valeria
Artworks exhibited by myself
Overall, we see Re:Source as a founding legacy of our time at Somerset House, where resourceful thinking and ambition allowed us to understand the power we have to curate meaningful creative spaces.
